Weekend Dash to Austin, Texas
After a few chaotic weeks kicked off a very stressful September, I was beyond excited for our yearly "dating-versary" trip, it's cheesy, but for this pair of travel bugs, any excuse to see some place new, we'll take it. Austin surpassed our expectations far and beyond, the food, OH-MY, the FOOD, live music anywhere and everywhere, the people, non-stop street festivals, superb outdoor fun, and a much unexpected sweet rental upgrade.
Saturday, bright and early:
Breakfast @ Torchy's Taco. THUMBS WAY UP.
Green Chile Pork, the Democrat, the Independent. Glorious.
This followed immediately after.
Son of a peach + Dirty Berry.
Blinky chinky eyes ;P
Wandered to 6th Street Pecan Festival, this drink stand, so very Texas.
SO refreshing.
Merry-go-round, the real thing.
Korean fusion deliciousness @ Koriente
Sunday, brighter, and earlier:
FRANKLIN BBQ, 7AM, 27th and 28th in line, 4 hours till opening, excitement level is HIGH, husband was literally jittery.
That oak charr.
Stickers never lie.
4 and a half hours to see these sweet faces.
Inhaled these in 20 minutes. and that white pouch, lived the best bourbon banana tart, ever.
handmade taro + strawberry passionfruit mochi icecream to polish off the BBQ, naturally.
South Congress Ave
Polished off the weekend fun with some damn good pizza.
Happiest 5!
